Hebbs Alpacas Tour and Fibre Processing at Creation Mill
Hebbs Alpacas, often describes as peaceful and serene is located four miles south of Langholm along the banks of the river Esk in an area historically known as the “Debatable Lands” rich in history and just a short distance from the 16th Century Gilnockie Tower.
Owned by Beverley and Byron Morgan, they manage a 90 strong herd of alpacas, both Suri and Hucaya with the addition of two Llamas across 60 acres of grazing land. Bev offers visitors a meet & greet experience where you are encouraged to feed the alpacas, learn how to put on the halter to lead them and engage in the skirting process of the shorn fleece.
You will have the opportunity to visit the onsite shop where you can purchase yarn, knitted goods and gifts made from the fleece from the alpacas.
Return to Creation Mill with your sample fleece where Emma will guide you through the fibre processing supporting you to create your own bespoke textile gift.
