We need a Crafty Community Coordinator!

Here at Creation Mill we are a Community Interest Company (CIC). That means that we are not in business to pull in huge profits. Our purpose is to use any profit we do make by putting it back into our community for public good.

We have had an exciting journey so far as a CIC running successful community groups in Langholm such as “In Stitches” and “Warm Wednesdays” and thanks to a recent boost in funding from the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing fund we are excited to be able to extend these groups further afield. With the help of the new Group Coordinator we will be branching out to Eskdailmuir, Cannonbie and Kirkpatrick Flemming as well as hosting some evening groups in Langholm to increase their accessibility.

These groups will be based on our successful “In Stitches” concept where anyone is welcome to come along with their own textiles project and enjoy a few hours crafting in the company of like minded friends. These sessions are great and our participants always have a laugh. It is a fab way to connect with people who have similar interests. Whether you want to come to have a chat or need advice on your project, our sessions are attended by some incredible textile artists with a diverse range of skills that they are all too happy to share.

Our new Group Coordinator will be a key member of the Creation Mill team as we continue to grow so if you would like to join an exciting female led organisation with community at its heart, set in some pretty stunning countryside we would love to hear from you.

We will need our new Group Coordinator to …

  • Be a confident driver with access to their own vehicle (an expert pothole swerver would be a bonus due to the rurality of some of the locations!)

  • Have a friendly nature and a love for all things textiles (you don’t need to be an expert but a keen interest is a bonus)

  • Be a great communicator, able to make people feel welcome and support participants in nurturing their health and wellbeing with the support of the Community Project Manager.

To apply for the position please read the role profile and person specification below and email a CV and covering letter to Abigail.setters@creationmill.org
