An update on our Crowdfunder

Our crowdfunding target has changed. Read on to find out why and for more information on how your donation will help Creation Mill.

Why has our target changed?

Originally, we set a target of £10,000 in order to fund our website design, kickstart some workshops and secure a physical workshop space. Since then, with the help of some amazing community funding bodies, we have been awarded funding for digital marketing and partial funding for our workshops, YAY!

Because of this, we don’t have to rely on as many donations and have a new crowdfunding target of £4,500, but there’s still a way to go.

If you would like to take part in one of our future workshops you can donate via a REWARD; so if you donate £50 you get £25 to put towards a future workshop of your choice! (can only be redeemed after the Crowdfunder has ended and we have secured our full target).

Where your donations will help

Money donated to our crowdfunder will help to get Creation Mill C.I.C. off the ground and make our plans a reality! We are overjoyed to have received funding for some areas, so our main focus now is securing a physical space to run our workshops and support local makers. See below some inspiration pictures of what the space could look like.

Our dream space is under the Buccleuch Mill roof, in the heart of Langholm’s historic and present textiles industry. It is big enough for all of our needs, including maker spaces, shared workshop space, a scrap store and tool library. The space is available, but needs some work done before it can be used.

This is where you come in.

We still need your help

Our goal of £4,500 would help us to start building work and cover rental of the space while we get started. We are currently half way to our target at £2,290 (as of 19/03/22) and only have until the 14th April to complete our crowdfunder, so please help us by donating or sharing our story!
