#ShareRepairAware with Creation Mill

It is that time of year again, where we join with Circular Communities Scotland to celebrate the Share and Repair Network and the benefits of living a less wasteful lifestyle.

For Creation Mill that means rescuing a huge amount of fabric, yarn and haberdashery from landfill and sharing the skills needed to transform this “waste” into textile treasure!

We are kindly donated a huge amount of what would be classified as industry waste from textile producers which is of beautiful quality and has so much potential left.

This year we have been busy hosting workshops that make use of these materials with brilliant results. Our patchwork and scrappy teddy workshops have been particularly popular. Reusing these materials and support from the National Lottery Awards for All fund means that we are able to offer these workshops at a hugely reduced price making them accessible to all which is key to us.

Take a look at our upcoming workshops here…

As well as rehoming these no longer wanted donations, we are also passionate about encouraging our community to mend things that they would have otherwise replaced. Our Mending Monday sessions have really ramped up this year and we now have a steady stream of people learning the skills to extend the lifetime of their items.

These sessions run from 1-3pm on Monday afternoons on a drop in basis, we would love to see you. Find us alongside other organisations committed to the #ShareRepairAware way on the members map here.
